spire mirror

spire mirror

This unusual mirror is made from a single plank of softwood discovered on the beach at St. Peters Bay, Essex. The grooves and holes are caused by hungry seaworms (they evacuated the timber well before discovery!) that have honeycombed the mirror frame, although the structure is still firm and strong. The mirror measures 72cm x 72cm. As with all my work, not only is the wood re-cycled but the mirror glass has found a new life.
